Albertus Magnus College Graduates Continue to Succeed After Graduating
Class of 2020 Survey Results Reveal Alumni Employment Rate Outpaces National Average 5 Years in a Row
New Haven, Conn., March 11, 2021 – For the fifth consecutive year, Albertus Magnus College graduates outperform the national average when it comes to finding employment or continuing their education within six months after graduation. The graduating Class of 2020 bachelor’s degree recipients achieved a 95-percent success rate versus the 86-percent national comparison rate, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). For the Classes of 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016, Albertus scored 96, 96, 97, and 96-percent, respectively.
“This is exciting news to share, especially as we continue to celebrate our 95th Anniversary,” said Albertus President Dr. Marc M. Camille. “These latest alumni success data reinforce the value of an Albertus Magnus College degree, and despite the Coronavirus Pandemic, Albertus alumni remain in high demand, and notably in this most recent graduating class, we saw record numbers going on to pursue Ph.D. and Ed.D. level programs.”
“Our undergraduate bachelor’s degree recipients continue to fare better than their counterparts nationwide – even during a pandemic,” said Albertus’ Director of Career and Professional Development, Patrick Clifford. “These consistent results reinforce why Albertus’ values and liberal arts-based education – the focus on critical thinking skills and experiential learning opportunities like internships – is an ideal preparation for success in life.”
The survey also revealed that 78-percent of Albertus graduates are working in the field of their chosen major. With Ernst and Young, KPMG, Marcum, and Alexion being some of the top employers of Class of 2020 graduates, once again more than 90-percent of Albertus graduates are staying in Connecticut as they begin their new careers.
With a commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities and to a four-year approach to career and professional development, Albertus Magnus College will hold its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, March 17 – this year virtually.
